Mission Statement:

The primary mission of the Pharmacy Technician program is to provide quality educational training designed to meet the current and future needs of the Health Care Industry. To accomplish this, the following guidelines are established: assist students to choose, prepare for, enter, and be gainfully employed as Pharmacy Technician; offer a program which emphasizes sound fundamentals while responding to the needs of this particular industry; provide courses to meet current and specific needs of the student and this industry.

What Career Options Are Available for Pharmacy Techs?

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will have the opportunity to work in different pharmacy settings, some of which include:

Retail Pharmacies

Compounding Pharmacies


Nursing Homes or Assisted Living Facilities

Mail-Order Pharmacy

Community or Ambulatory Care Pharmacies

Pharmacy Technicians work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and perform technical and clerical duties in the pharmacy. Pharmacy Technicians measure, mix, count out, label, and record medication dosages according to prescription orders.

We offer day, night, and weekend course options for our 280-hour Pharmacy Technician Program. The program includes: Instruction in Pharmacology, Pharmacy Law and Regulations, Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding, Medication Safety, Quality Assurance, Medication Order Entry and Fill Processes, Inventory Management, Billing, and Information Systems. Students who complete the program will meet the State of California Pharmacy Technician licensing requirements.
